ONE-ON-ONE COACHING
This is an exclusive opportunity to be individually coached and mentored by Philip Chidel. Set up a short free consultation with Philip to work out an individual plan-of-action for you to get your crowd-funding focused and effective. This is a great coaching process for producers as well as writers and directors. Fees are $100 an hour. Philip takes on only 6 mentees at a time on a rolling basis dependent on his availability. |
TEAM COACHING
Filmmaking relies on the ability to collaborate and pull together your successful “film family” as Guillermo Del Toro puts it. Getting that team together is one of the main benefits of going to film school. Either apply as an already formed development group, or be guided to a group by Philip. Again, your individual goals and schedule will be set in a short free consultation with Philip. Fees are also $100 an hour, so if you are on a budget this could work well for you! |
ABOUT PHILIP CHIDEL
In addition to fostering new independent film and transmedia projects, Philip works as a social media consultant for films and crowdfunding projects. He is best known as the writer, director, editor and producer of the independent feature Subject Two, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and is currently in distribution worldwide. More recently, Philip’s macabre short ‘Til Death, financed entirely through a successful Kickstarter campaign, was named Best Short Film at three separate genre film festivals. Current projects include the romantic feature Open Book, which won the Grand Prize at the Table Read my Screenplay Contest in the Austin Film Festival and was also a Top 10 Finalist in Cinequest. And for something completely different, there is I am Fartacus! — a children's adventure fantasy project about a gassy superhero who fights crime with extreme flatulence. Philip not only teaches directing for the Academy of Art University in San Francisco but also has created a highly successful crowdfunding class there. He is a Redskins fan, bleeds orange and black for the San Francisco Giants and Baltimore Orioles, goes Blue, and strongly believes in the unifying power of the independent artistic voice.

"I have worked with Philip for 20 years and have been directed by him from off-Broadway to the silver screen. Philip's understanding of vision, characters and the story is his strength and gift. He is a triple threat, a business, creative and marketing thinker outside the box, which is what is needed to survive in our creative world.”

“Philip's knowledge of social media marketing and crowdfunding is broad and deep. He knows the right strategies to follow based on the type of project and the resources available. Subsequently, he was able to effectively help us map out the winning strategy that allowed our $10,000 indie film fundraising campaign to succeed - we couldn't have done it without him!”
Julienne Flanagin, (Marketing Manager, The Velvet) |
“"Philip's help with our crowdfunding campaign for The Velvet was invaluable. He has very extensive knowledge and a great understanding of social media as well as fundraising and marketing strategies. I am sure that we wouldn't have reached our goal if it wasn't for Philip!"
Magdalena Kwiatkowska, (Producer of 'The Velvet') |
